| Helen Whittaker plays an active role in promoting the crafts and traditional arts involved in the creation of stained glass in a variety of ways. Lectures to professional organisations, involvement with community groups, and design projects with schools all bring the art and craft of stained glass design to a wider audience. More specifically, Helen teaches in stained glass design at the Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London to pass on her skills to a new generation of craftsmen and women who will bring new ideas in architectural design of glass to the traditional methods of glazing which have been taught through the ages. The shortage in these traditional skills may hopefully be met and the conservation and preservation of our historic buildings will be maintained. |
