| Helen Whittaker employs her knowledge of geometric design (common to both Christian and Islamic traditions) in architectural works. Her new designs for stained glass windows often use abstract forms and accentuated glazing which allow greater freedom of interpretation within the frame of the supporting masonry.
Powerful patterns of energy and movement are softened with natural elements such as flora and fauna, combining the traditional with the abstract. The sculptures in copper and glass stimulate connections and act as intermediaries between the viewer and the stained glass.
